I have been professionally guiding women in emotional mastery and personal leadership for 18 years.
Hi, I'm Monica Maria, a medicine woman and spiritual teacher of Andean lineage (Colombia and Peru) devoted to supporting women in remembering their power through mastering their emotions and learning to lead themselves.
I have been walking this path for a very long time. My mother introduced me to the world of spirituality and holistic healing at 16 when I completed my first certification in the José Silva Method. It was my first encounter with energy medicine, and it opened a door that would shape the next decades of my life.
For over thirty-four years, I’ve studied, practiced, and integrated a wide range of modalities, eventually developing my own methodologies, to support women through embodiment, self-inquiry, and integration.
But it wasn’t until 2016, when I lost everything due to mold poisoning, that I found myself homeless, ill, and heartbroken. In my desperation I had forgotten the tools, resources, and community I had collected. This dark night of the soul brought me back to a devotional relationship with the divine and myself.
In my search, plant medicine was the tool that I turned to help me heal my body, finally cleansing my system of the toxins of that poisoning. Emotionally and mentally I was able to recoup my strength, and I remembered that I had a mission to complete.
Here in my motherland I found a community that has become not only soul family but also a place where I have flourished in my artistic expression as a medicine woman, who also heals through song.
In 2020, I moved to Armenia, Colombia, and have been assisting my Taita (spiritual father) in ceremony every Saturday, where I now have been sitting for 10 years. I approach my work with humility, respect, and a deep sense of responsibility, understanding that these traditions are not tools but living lineages.
I do not see my role as one of “healing” you.
Rather, I walk beside you as a guide, helping you remember, integrate, and embody all aspects of who you are, so you can step more fully into your own leadership and life.
In a world where holistic and spiritual offerings have grown rapidly, discernment matters. Choosing a guide you trust, one who values transparency, consent, and ethical responsibility, is essential.
This is why I center my work around safety, authenticity, and nervous system-aware practices that allow lasting transformation to unfold organically, rather than forcefully.
Somatic and embodied approaches are at the heart of everything I offer, such as communing in ceremony. In my experience, embodiment is the missing link in many spiritual paths, the bridge between insight and change you live through.

Some women arrive with little or no prior experience. We prioritize preparation, clear communication, and trauma-informed facilitation so you feel supported every step of the way. A screening process ensures the retreat is appropriate for you, as well as prep material and a post-retreat private integration session.
What about mental health?
This retreat supports personal growth and embodiment, but it is not a replacement for medical or psychological care. During the screening process, we explore whether this experience is a good fit for your current emotional and mental health. In some cases, we may suggest additional support or a different timing. Discernment is part of our ethical responsibility.
Is it safe to travel to Colombia?
Yes. Colombia is a welcoming and vibrant country, and the region where the retreat is held is a small, calm, rural, and nature-focused city.
